Describe yourself in 3 words…
Compassionate, Loyal, Determined
How have your children impacted your career? How do they inspire you?
They’ve impacted my career in many ways...but for the better. I’m able to say no to things without feeling the guilt. I’m also able to work from home a lot so I get to include them in a lot that I do. They love helping out with my website and YouTube videos!
They inspire me to be a good role model when it comes to professionalism and work ethic. When I do have to work away from home, I work efficiently so I’m able to have that quality time with them. So, in other words, they inspire me to get sh*t done…and get it done right. I actually dedicated the last chapter in both of my books to that sentiment! In my personal life, they inspire me in every way. Becoming a mother was truly the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
What are your favorite kid friendly restaurants in The Hamptons?
We are HUGE fans of Blue Parrot in East Hampton. My kids love it so much that it’s become a tool to bribe them to behave. I’m serious! Scarlett and Brooks can’t get enough of their guacamole. And if this momma can have a good skinny margarita in the process? Done. The banana ice cream at Candy Kitchen and the mini cheeseburger and fries at LT Burger in Sag Harbor are also some all-time favorites. And, for adults (who want to be like kids), Lulu’s in Sag Harbor is the place to get the best French fries and glass of rose.
What made you start your website? What are your favorite topics to cover?
I’ve always been that girl who loves giving advice or sharing my favorite things. I see my website as a home for that to curate all of that. My favorite topics are definitely anything beauty, fashion, or motherhood related. I also love being able to use my site and social media to get product recommendations and tips from my followers, too. Yes, I might be a bit of a product “whore.” I can’t help it!
My website also propelled me to write my first book, "The Everyday Supermodel" which was a mix of things I had posted on the site, what I was talking about with friends, and questions I’d get from people on my social media channels—everything beauty, fitness, and wellness. As my family grew, so did the topics I was interested in writing about. That’s what inspired my new book "Everyday Chic" which comes out on Oct. 10th. It’s all about home entertaining, decorating, organization and embracing that happy mess of motherhood.
What are your favorite family activities to do on the weekends?
Since our schedules can be pretty chaotic, we love taking it easy at home. Whether it’s playing in the backyard or making pancakes in our pajamas, it’s all about the quality time. The beach is our thing, too. We based mainly in LA, on the Westside, so we love heading down there and packing a picnic. Also, it doesn’t hurt that an Eastern Standard at Nobu is only a hop and a skip away!
You stay healthy and fit, and your skin is always glowing, please share your workout and beauty regimen!
Well, thank you! Some days, it can definitely be a struggle to put that effort in but it’s worth it. I’m all about the look good, feel good mantra. I’ve realized what works in my daily life and I stick to it. I wake up earlier than the kids to get a little cardio in 4-5 days a week. It’s tough but by the time I start sweating, I’m awake and ready for the day. I eat super healthy diet of greens and protein but keep that glass of wine for sanity.
For my beauty regimen, it all comes down to my everyday essentials. If I’m not going to an event, I keep it pretty simple. Sunscreen, tinted moisturizer, a bit of concealer, cream blush, mascara, and a great lip balm. It’s become so habitual that I don’t even think about it anymore. Sometimes I’ll even do it on-the-go if I have to! I’m also really into skincare. Recently when I was in the Hamptons, I had the best facial EVER from Georgia Louise. I am obsessed. Thankfully, she’s coming to LA soon for a pop up.
What foods do you recommend eating for Moms who are trying to lose the baby weight?
Ugh, losing the baby weight! It’s never easy. My background is in the modeling industry so my first instinct has always been to either starve myself or do some sort of crash diet. But, it never works! Especially as a new momma who needs all the energy she can get.
I struggled losing the weight after my first two pregnancies so I knew I needed a different approach after Baby Grey. My nutritionist, Kelly LeVeque, is all about eating the Fab 4: Proteins, Fats, Fiber, and Greens. On every plate, at every meal. When eaten together, these nutrients turn off all hunger hormones in your body and elongate your blood sugar curve which keeps you satisfied for longer.I lost all my baby weight in 12 WEEKS! She actually just came out with a book called Body Love...so you can follow her plan there.
You recently had your third child, was that a major change in the family dynamic?
My husband, Scott and I always joke that we went from man-to-man defense to zone overnight. Before we had Grey, we each would grab a kid and we were covered. Now? It’s a little more complicated. I’m lucky to have him because we are a great team. Team Stuber, Tribe of 5, we’ve got this.
Being that you are incredibly busy with family and work right now, how do you carve out "me" time during the week?
When my schedule is chaotic, I make sure to pick a lane. When I’m working, I’m all work. When I’m at home, I put down my emails and stay present in the moment. I’ve noticed this helps with time management as well as my stress levels.
Do I still feel guilty sometimes? We all do. But as a mom and wife, it’s important to recharge…even if it’s just meditating in silence.
What values do you hope to instill in your children?
To always be grateful and empathetic. And to never lose their sense of adventure.
