I love to entertain, as you all well-know, and at the core of any party are the florals. I was lucky enough to have met Arthur Golabek in the Hamptons, and he helped create some unbelievably beautiful floral arrangements in my home. Recently, he opened up his own business here in NYC, lucky for all of us, and his first big project was for my ShopBAZAAR x Black Iris Launch Dinner. The table was outrageously beautiful, filled with bright, wild flowers, that lit up the room. He interpreted our vision for the launch to perfection, and was so lovely to work with. If you are looking for a new florist, he’s definitely your guy.
How many years have you been in business in NYC?
Officially, for 1 year. I split myself between NYC and The Hamptons.
How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?
The love for flowers and beautiful treasures in life are my inspiration. It was always a dream to have my own business. I have always wanted to have a flower store where you could also shop for vintage home accessories and furniture. For now, I do flowers privately and the shop is set up online at arthurgolabek.com.
What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
I believe a mixture of love for flowers and beautiful things in life, dedication, hard work and talent helps create unique floral decor for events and homes.
What do you feel gives you longevity in this big city with so many options?
The right balance. It’s very difficult not to work when you love what you do. I have to stop myself sometimes and take care of Arthur :-)
How do you benefit mamas?
I provide gorgeous arrangements and compositions for their homes. Flowers always elevate the mood and can even be therapeutical in many subtle ways.
What is your favorite part of your job?
It’s definitely shopping for flowers, creating arrangements and being surrounded by all the natural beauty in life.
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
Astoria Park Running Track. You can get a lot of thinking and planning done while running around in circles.
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
Happy tears in my client’s eyes after she saw what I created for one of her parties. Unforgettable!

What’s the best advice anyone’s ever given you?
Maintain a positive attitude, do your best and be you.
