What are your favorite kids clothing designers?
I have too many favorites! But to name just a few, from the day Sky was born I have loved Ralph Lauren, Burberry and Stella McCartney.
What are your favorite Hamptons activities with your kids?
We love spending a full day at the beach and having a bonfire with our friends and all the kids. We also love watching Nacho Figueras and team play polo and the kids love The Children's Museum of the East End. One of my favorite traditions is a Friday night at Wolffer vineyard while we relax, listen to music and watch the sunset.
What are you favorite Hamptons beaches?
My favorite beaches are Georgica, Maidstone, Sagg Main, Gibson, and Peter's Pond.
What are your favorite restaurants out east?
Moby's, Tutto Il Giorno, Nick and Toni's, The Palm, Crows Nest, The Beacon and Topping Rose.
How have your two boys influenced your personal style and new clothing line?
My boys influence me in everything I do because they are always at the forefront of my mind. As a mother, my personal style has become more relaxed and practical—I wear things that can last all day, that aren't too precious or wrinkle too easily.
As a designer I'm always thinking about the working mom or the multi-hyphenate woman who wants to look and feel her best. My goal is for women to achieve that everyday, effortless take on glamour.
What has been your most memorable and special collaboration to date?
One of my most recent and exciting collaborations is my exclusive summer capsule collection with Net a Porter. It's been a dream come true for me as a designer!
What is the mantra you live by?
I live by so many mantras both personally and professionally. The one that remains constant is to always be kind, honest and loyal. That doesn't mean you should expect that in return sadly, especially in business. I believe that you can succeed without stepping on people to get where you want to be.
I also believe in teaching my children empathy at a very young age, that feeling of compassion will go a long way as they build character and become their own person.
Lastly, I believe in always giving back. Philanthropy, primarily advocating for children, has become another full-time job for me and by far the most rewarding. I feel as though I can never do enough, and that motivates me to do more, and get more involved on a deeper level.
How do you carve out time for yourself being a full-time mom and career woman? How do you like to spend this time?
I honestly don't take time for myself...almost never. Im either working or with my children. Any free time that I have, is quality time I spend with Skyler and Kaius -- it isn't necessarily relaxing but always perfect and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
