We all know I have an affinity for vintage. I am obsessed with puffed sleeves, intricate laces, and gold lame! What’s really special about vintage finds is that they are done with a craftsmanship we rarely see in current times. I love knowing that when I wear my vintage dresses, I won’t have to worry about seeing someone else in the same outfit. There is also something whimsical and important about statement pieces, and the best ones can be found at Happy Isles Salon. This incredibly well-curated shop, is about the experience. You go and select from a wide assortment of dresses, jewels and accessories and play the best dress-up imaginable. It’s like being a kid in a candy store, for a vintage lover like myself. You leave the salon with a complete look, head to toe, with pieces that will never go out of style.Read More
When I heard the story behind this jewelry collection, I was moved! Romy, the founder and designer, had lost her Dad, and wanted to give her Mother something special, signifying her Father, to hold close to her heart. She designed a gold necklace with his signature on it, and her company was born. It doesn’t get more personalized and unique than this gift, as everyone’s handwriting is quite different, and also holds so much of a person's character. For Mother’s Day, my girls wrote out the words “Gaga,” “Mama,” “Sister, Sister,” and “BFF.” We are now taking orders online to customize necklaces with these phrases as a collaboration with Sincerely (in your children’s handwriting) and we cannot wait to see them on everyone! To order your own custom necklace, visit this link. Use code MAMATATA at checkout to received 10% off your order.Read More
Every year, on Mother’s Day, for as long as I can remember, my mother wanted a robe! She was in love with silk robes, and wore them every evening after a long day of work. I remember when we were little, Tata and I used to shop at all of the lingerie stores in our neighborhood searching for the perfect one, back when brick & mortar was still the primary mode for shopping! Now, it’s a lot easier, and the woman who does it best is Helena Quinn! Her robes are like works of art, something to feel great in at home, or even wear out with jeans during the day. Her prints are very special, and now she does custom monogramming, as well. Her “Mama” robes really spoke to me, when I saw them online, and it was the perfect Mother’s Day gift for my Mama, and we also added one to our cart for Tata!Read More
I am constantly on the run when in NYC, whether I am going to school drop-offs and pickups, getting to the gym, or racing to shoot features. I’m always looking for a big bag to store all of my various outfits for the day, one that is not only practical, but also attractive. STATE bags came out with a brilliant collection of backpacks and fanny packs, lined with the map of New York (so I’ll never get lost) that are so chic and functional, I wanted the entire line! My favorite piece by far is the floral backpack, because I am yearning for those spring blooms to pop up in this city and wearing it just makes me happy. They also carry some higher-end leather backpacks that I’m crazy about, so make sure to look for those as well.Read More

We all know that great diaper bags are few and far between. However, Nuria De La Fuente has changed the game, in her newest collection of totes, clutches and flap bags. FEM bags are the most functional and chic bags you can buy, made by mothers who understand the need to look great while staying well organized. The clutch also serves as a changing pad for babies, which couldn’t be more brilliant! The flap bag is compartmentalized and comes in beautiful neutral tones, all hand crafted in Italy, and made at a price that is reasonable. Even if you’re not a mom, you probably want one of these to go to the gym or the office. The simplistic design and great sturdy materials and hardware make these bags high in demand. Looking forward to seeing them around the city on your strollers!Read More
MONROW: Email: email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, Website: https://www.monrow.com/
When I think of L.A., this company is at the forefront of my mind. Monrow, the super chic, comfortable, simple, leisurewear line, was hatched by Michelle Wenke and Megan George in L.A. and their aesthetic is very in sync with the lifestyle and environment around them. Their clothing is my go-to for when I’m on the road with my girls, and want to be comfortable, yet look put-together and cohesive. Their sweatpants and sweaters are tailored, not frumpy, and actually allow you to feel attractive in your mommy gear! They’ve recently launched Monrow Mini, Monrow Men, and Monrow Classics, expanding their brand organically to appease all of their customers. I love twinning with my girls in their patterned hoodies and sweatpants. I was really inspired by Michelle and all of her hard work to create a brand from the ground up while being a mom. Not only does she have Monrow, but she recently founded Tribe West, a beautiful collection of baby mats/yoga mats in a variety of prints and colors. With all of the unattractive, bright, baby mats out there, these are majorly refreshing!Read More

How has your daughter influenced your career?
My daughter, Sunday, has completely redefined my view of success. As a fashion stylist and fashion blogger, I used to be so hard on myself for any single day that went by where I didn't work or bill hours-- but now I look at this career I created for myself as the biggest blessing of all. I get to live the life I dreamed of as a successful working mother, AND as a mother who gets countless hours of bonding time during the week with my baby when I'm not on a job. I feel complete.
Where do you like to shop for your daughter?
True to my personal style, I fill Sunday's closet with unique pieces from travels abroad, like African wax print harem pants from South Africa and woven rompers from Mexico. Cat & Jack by Target is my everyday go-to, and for special occasions, I love Rock Your Baby, The Ice Cream Castles, and Stella McCartney Kids.
How do you carve out time for yourself and how do you like to spend this time?
I try to book a few hours a week where I'm not working and not with my baby. Those hours are basically planned to the minute...jumping from pilates to the nail salon to a boutique with not a second to spare!! And I recently realized the power of ordering an in-home masseuse on a weeknight after Sunday goes to bed. Major plus!
How has having a baby influenced your style?
I'm a separates girl-- primarily skirts and tops, so having a baby threw my style for a curve ball. All those music classes and gym classes where we sit cross-legged on the floor left me grabbing for harem pants and midi skirts instead of the minis I was always used to. I also shop for more cottons and washable fabrics now, since Sunday has sticky snack fingers at all times!
What is your best advice for a new mama?
Don't compare yourself or your baby to anyone else. I had actually never held a baby before my own-- so you could imagine how little I knew about anything. Over the course of a few months, everything started to make perfect sense. I'm really happy and confident about the mom I was always meant to be.
What is your most memorable family vacation?
Family vacations have certainly taken a turn since Sunday was born! There's a lot less fabulous European getaways, and a lot more long weekends at kid-friendly resorts. I can honestly say these new baby-friendly trips are the most fun of all. Recently my husband, Sunday, labradoodle named Homer, and I spent a long weekend at Terranea Resort in Southern California. We kept Sunday up past her bedtime every night and had a blast!
Favorite family weekend activity?
Family Date Night... every Friday night at 5:30pm. There's a lot of laughs, a lot of mess, and lots of wine for mama and daddy!
Top 3 favorite designers?
This is impossibly tough. Today it's Gucci, R13, and Chanel.
What is your favorite part of your job as a stylist?
I love seeing my commercials on television. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears go into costuming global commercial campaigns-- all for those glorious 30 seconds of screen time that half the country fast forwards through anyway! Sigh.
What lessons or values do you hope to impart to your daughter?
I hope to teach Sunday about the power of a confident, independent woman. It's something that both my mother, and my first boss and mentor, Diane von Furstenberg, taught me. I live my life by that strength.
RESERVOIR: 8820 Washington Boulevard #102, LA, Ph. (323) 300-5309
My entire L.A. wardrobe came from my favorite store in Culver City, Reservoir. If you missed some of my L.A. posts, I highly recommend checking out all of the looks. I was lucky enough to borrow pieces for my shoots, and I only wished I could keep the whole wardrobe. The owners Alissa Jacob and Aliza Neidich, two native New Yorkers, took their chic looks to the west side and it has been a big success. They carry so many contemporary designers we love like Shop Redone, Zimmermann, Ellery, and Hellessy. However, what’s even more unique is their curation of magnificent, eye-popping jewelry. It’s easy to get stuck in Reservoir all day, between the clothing, accessories, gadgets, and home goods, so carve out some time! The new store is located in Platform, the awesome indoor/outdoor shopping mall. You can go take the kids for ice cream, grab a bite to eat, and stop into Reservoir to shop, so it’s fun for the entire family, and serves as a great weekend activity.Read More
POPPY STORE: Email: email@example.com
Of all the stores in LA, this one is by far my favorite! Poppy store is my first stop every time I come to town. Filled with the most well-curated selection of children’s clothing and accessories, and located in the cutest little corner of Brentwood Country Mart, owner Jenny Belushi nailed it! They carry various designers at all price points, and have the sweetest selection of boys clothing which is hard to come by. This store is a clear labor of love. Jenny was always inspired by dressing her own little angels, and wanted to create a space where families could share her passion. My girls always look forward to my arrival back from L.A., with Poppy bags in tow, as they too, appreciate the exceptional mini styling by Jenny Belushi.
PATBO: website: https://patbo.com/
When searching for the perfect looks to pack for vacation, I had a one-stop-shop at PatBo, a Brazilian designer who recently launched her collection in the U.S. I’m a sucker for a plunging neckline, and PatBo clearly agrees that this deep V is flattering and sexy on most women. Her resort line is filled with fun prints, scandalous cut outs, and breathable fabrics, that make it the ultimate vacation gear. However, if you are a snow bunny and off to colder climates, she offers the most magnificent hand-beaded gowns to reign in the New Year. I’m excited to see what’s to come as Patricia Bonaldi continues to provide access to her beautiful pieces!
EMILY AND ASHLEY: ph: 212.327.2765, email: Ashley@emilyandashley.com
I’ve known this sister duo for over a decade, and they have been creating beautiful pieces of jewelry since way back then! While everything they make is very special and unique, my favorite items are the vintage charm necklaces and bracelets because they are so meaningful. They search all of the flea markets and vintage shows for special charms to have a selection that will be eclectic enough to meet everyone’s purposes. I happened to really enjoy the process of reflecting on my life, and finding symbols for family, friends and feelings that are representative of who I am. Emily and Ashley took my list of symbols and found each one to create the most incredible charm necklace that sparks so many wonderful memories. I am so in love with my necklace, that I am hosting a holiday party for them today so that my family and friends can also make them for the holidays. These pieces also make the best gifts, for both children and adults!Read More
JEMMA WYNNE: Website: , Ph. (212) 980-8500, Email: firstname.lastname@example.org, Instagram: @jemmawynne
My favorite pick of this beautiful jewelry line is their diamond bracelet, which is available in a variety of sizes and colors. They are very light, and you hardly realize you are wearing them. They are the contemporary version of the “tennis bracelet,” but are adjustable in size and you can choose any stone meaningful to you. The best friends behind the brand have quite an eye, and when I visited their showroom I fell in love with everything else they’ve designed. I ogled over their bracelets for little girls. What special, beautiful, unique pieces for holidays or a big birthday. They were very dainty and understated. The Jemma Wynne girls are now launching their pieces to Bergdorf Goodman, so go check out their incredible selection just in time for the holiday season.Read More

Mommy. Creative. Determined.
What was your main source of inspiration for Alice and Olivia?
The quest for the perfectly fitted pant! That was back in 2002. The mission and my design sensibility has evolved since then, but I still love an amazing bold color or printed pant!
How do you balance your business and family life?
As any working mother does, the best I can, with amazing help from my parents and caregivers, and with as much humor as possible!
How do you carve out time for yourself and how do you like to spend this time?
I do an hour of ashtanga yoga every morning. It is really important for me to take that time for myself. And it has to be in the morning----either at 5:00 am before the girls wake up or at 7:45 after they go to school…. After 9:00 am I am all business!
Where do you like to shop for your daughters?
I make a lot of their clothing, but in NYC I love my friend Sari’s new store EVERAFTER and on my block is an adorable store called My Little Sunshine. I also love European lines like the tulle dresses from Luna Luna and more retro children’s clothing like Velveteen’s dresses and smocked dresses from Luli and Me and annafie dresses back to doc marten boots or high top sneakers.
What is your favorite family weekend activity around New York?
My girls are really into gymnastics right now! But we also love just going to the parks near our house in Tribeca, stopping at the ice cream truck or the new ring ding bar, shopping, and just hanging with friends. We also love doing dinners with friends at our house on Friday nights….
What is your most memorable family vacation?
We take a trip to Hawaii every December. It has become a great family tradition. And every July we spend a month at our family home in Malibu. It is also such an incredible time spent with west coast friends and family….
What is your best advice for a new mama?
Your happiness is important to your baby’s happiness! Don’t forget to take time for yourself!
What values do you hope to instill in your girls?
Kindness, truthfulness, and the idea that hard work is good for you!
DANNIJO: Email: email@example.com, Website: , Ph. (212) 971-7070
The sister act known as Dannijo is at it again! They have been making fun jewels together since they were kids, and now they added their newest passion to the equation. They have always enjoyed vintage shows with one another, collecting fun t-shirts, accessories and pretty little frocks. Now, they have created a business out of it, combining their own accessories with their favorite styles of the past to create a beautiful head-to-toe look that screams chic! What’s really special about their experience is getting to go to their showroom and selecting your items, so that they assist you in curating the look you are trying to achieve. This beautiful sister team are empowering girls everywhere. They naturally complement one another, so putting their keen fashion eyes together makes for the perfect shopping experience.Read More
There is no one more chic than my pal, Olivia Palermo! Since we were kids, everything she wore was iconic. The way she always pieces high and low items together is genius. Whether she's belting it, layering it, or keeping it classic, she manages to work a wardrobe better than anyone in the room. Her talent in styling is admired by most, so it's of no surprise that Banana Republic took note, and together they decided to collaborate on a collection that launched this Fall. I used to shop at Banana Republic when I was younger, but have not been in years until this partnership was established. The pieces fit so well, the quality of the fabric is stellar, and the line is overall so reflective of Olivia's personal taste. Truthfully, I wanted the entire line. Luckily, they were kind enough to give me a few pieces to share with all of you! Run, don't walk, to be sure you don't miss out on this brilliant team effort.Read More
THE STRIPED SAILOR: website: https://www.thestripedsailor.com/
I was introduced to The Striped Sailor shoe line this summer in the Hamptons, and have lived in mine ever since! For the longest time, I would buy flats and just step on the backs of them because I constantly got blisters from all of the city walking. Finally, designer Daniella Gotlib, read my mind and saved the day, making backless espadrilles, in an assortment of beautiful colors and fabrics. I wear them to the gym, to go to drop off at school, and when I'm running around all day at meetings and shoots. My feet used to get so beat up, and my only option were Birkenstocks, but now I can be comfortable and still super chic. These are the ultimate Mama purchase, and they are well priced to boot! I'm looking forward to seeing the new spring collection of espadrilles and other goodies The Striped Sailor has in the pipeline.Read More

How has becoming a Mother influenced your perspective on work?
I am just now trying to figure out the balance of work and motherhood. Some days I think I am in a good groove and sometimes I am completely overwhelmed and ask myself how I am ever going to get anything done. Motherhood to me right now is my most important job and everything else comes second. I think that is likely how it will be the rest of my life, but it is a huge adjustment period at the moment.
What advice would you give to new mothers?
My advice would be to take all advice with a grain of salt. Each child is different, each struggle is different. What one mom does may not work for you or it may be the thing that solves your issue! You know your baby best, trust your instinct and stop comparing yourself to what everyone else is doing. Ask for advice from other moms you trust but don't question yourself if how your child responds to that advice is different.
Where do you like to shop for your son?
I honestly haven't been doing too much shopping for Sonny because there is so little he needs right now. At least in my opinion. I furnished and designed our whole nursery with Joss and Main, sprinkling in some cute accessories from Pehr Designs.
What were your most useful purchases for your son?
The Shusher machine is amazing! We took it in the car with us over the weekend and it worked wonders. We love Water Wipes and his Munchkin trash can! We also had California Closets come in and custom design his nursery so everything is super organized and has its place!
What was the best baby gift you received?
Well, there's been a couple things for me that I have loved!! Like my "Sonny" necklace from Lola James or even just an at home massage from soothe! I know this may sound selfish, but sometimes it's nicer to get the mom a present cause the baby gets so much stuff and the mom needs a little TLC!
But in terms of a present for Sonny, we have loved so much! I love our rose gold bloom Frescoe high chair, our Uppababy Vista stroller, and all the personalized robes and onesies and blankets! It's all so thoughtful.
How do you plan on carving out some "me" time? And how do you plan on utilizing that time?
When I have someone watching the baby, instead of just sitting on my computer and doing work, I try to get out and get some fresh air. Whether that is simply going to the grocery store, getting a mani/pedi or facial or even just laying on the couch and watching TV, I make sure I have some of that each day. I also want to make sure my husband and I have time together. I am finding it more and more important to make time with him and stick to a plan. It's easy to lose sight of the communication and time you once had. I am a big fan of making at least one date night a week.
What is your workout regimen?
Right now I don't really have one! Sonny is only two months so I took the first six weeks just to recover and let my body rest. I have since gone to some pilates and yoga but plan to really get back into the swing of things soon. I want to start easy. Maybe one pilates, one yoga and one cardio class a week and see how I feel! I use Classpass so I can really mix things up. One of my best friends also has a pilates studio in her back house, so I try to take advantage of that! It's Pilates by Amanda and it is great!
What is your current career direction?
I am currently a creative director at Bloom2bloom, a give back flower company where every succulent or bouquet you purchase, gives back a percentage to wish upon a teen and Bundle Organics- a flash pasteurized juice company with no preservatives for pregnant and nursing mothers.
How do you balance your career and family life?
I am truly trying to find that balance. It is so important for me to have an identity other than just being a mom and have a purpose that fulfills me. Yes, being a mom is my most important job right now, but having a creative outlet allows me to also be the best mom I can be. I take each day, day by day, and try to switch off being a mom and being a career woman. I am lucky enough to work from home so I feel I am able to tend to Sonny and then when he is taken care of, I can get back to work and get things done.
What has been the greatest challenge of motherhood so far?
The greatest challenge has been by far the breastfeeding and lack of sleep. Now that I am ten weeks postpartum, it has definitely gotten easier and I am more in the groove but it was soooo tough for me. I got mastitis three times and struggled with how I was going to feed him. It took over my life. I am now mixing pumping and nursing and it has gotten a bit easier. I felt ready to sacrifice myself to be a mom, but I wasn't prepared for the sacrifice of my body .
HAYDEN LASHER: ph. (646) 684-472, e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
I remember the days of the diaper bag all too well, and I must say, I'm happy they are behind me! When I gave birth to my girls there weren't many options out there, and none chic enough to wear to lunch. I remember feeling that there was a real gap in this market, and they were in high demand for the NYC mommy scene. There are a million things that must be carried at all times when we become mamas. The diapers, wipes, blankets, pacifiers, cleansers, ointments, formula, breastmilk, toys, snacks, change of clothes...The list is endless! Many of these essentials being liquids, which means the bag must be water proof. Well, finally, there is a super classic, comfortable, attractive option on the market, and the designer is Hayden Lasher, great great grand niece of the famous department store owner, Henri Bendel. She is no stranger to the fashion world, and she's making her mark with her printed diaper bags in an assortment of neutral colors.
HATCH: website: http://www.hatchcollection.com/
A childhood friend of mine launched her brand years ago when becoming a Mama, and her business has flourished into a major fashion label. If you are pregnant, or looking to be, Hatch is your new best friend! This collection of maternity clothes allows you to feel chic and beautiful at all stages of pregnancy, and we all know how difficult that can be. Ariane Goldman, founder of Hatch, has always had an eye for a comfortable, effortless, sophisticated look, and it is that keen sense of style that has distinguished her in this business. Even though I am not pregnant, I admire her collection, and wear her pieces regularly. Her fabrics are soft and her look is sharp, making it the most desirable maternity line to date. I am excited to announce her first store opening in Soho this week, at 17 Bleecker Street. Run, don't walk!Read More
How do you juggle your dual roles as mother and fashion designer?
I have learned that it’s better to do one thing well at a time, rather than try to multitask. I’ve found that I balance my roles better when I focus on one at a time, whether it is motherhood, friendships or my career.
How have your children influenced your brand?
When Ava was born, she made me want to be a better woman. Now that she is 17, I keep my collection young and current because of her and more classic because of me. Tallulah is my fashion queen. She oozes fashion and appreciates all the same things I do, from a beautifully shaped shoe to a bold lip color. My hunch is she will work in fashion in some aspect as well.
What inspired you to create your own line?
I had worked in fashion since I was 14, and creating clothing that I believed in was the next progression and step for me in my early 30s.
How do you carve out time for yourself? How do you spend this time?
I schedule healthy alone time for myself the same way I schedule in a meeting. If I didn’t do that, I would have zero balance in my life. I do yoga, listen to Wayne Dyer, take workout classes, treat myself to massages, and seek out different things that I am curious about- currently breathing techniques!
Where do you like to shop for your daughters?
I shop for Ava on the Rachel Roy website and Revolve.com and for Tallulah, I shop on Yoox and Crew Cuts. I am an online shopper!
Where was your favorite family vacation?
There are SO many favorites. We are a group of girls that believe in making happy memories. We recently had an amazing trip in Bermuda, one of our favorite islands.
What lessons do you hope to instill in your children?
I hope to teach them to reach for healthy tools in times of stress, anxiety and hardships and to keep those tools handy and close. Anything that brings them true joy is a healthy tool, as well as speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Kindness is always fashionable.
What words of advice do you have for other mamas?
Forgive yourself and keep going. We succeed much more than we fail, although we can tend to focus on the failures. When we focus on the successes, the more they happen!
How do you give back?
I believe employment is freedom, so I work to create employment in third world countries for women as much as within my means. I have a platform called Kindness is Always fashionable and I work closely with World of Children to fund angels around the world who are dedicated to helping under privileged children. This week, I launched my “Choose Love” capsule collection with a beautiful leather bag and denim jacket, both embossed with the word “LOVE,” and 20% of proceeds are going back to World of Children.
Please tell us what inspired your charity and what it means to you?
I make giving back part of my daily life with my girls. I incorporate it in ways the girls and I enjoy, whether it’s through shopping or creating! We take refugee children back to school shopping, I buy goods from artisans to sell on my website and in my stores, and I create product with artisans to sell in their country. Give back works seamlessly for me when I incorporate it into what I love and what I work on.
