How many years have you been in business in NYC?
5 years
How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?
The idea for Figue was an accumulation of many years of travel and meeting artisans, spending time in India, and thinking of different ways to create a collection that was globally minded.

What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
I approach everything with a global perspective. Figue has always been about seasonless dressing and collaborations with artists from around the world. I keep all of that in mind as I create and curate each collection.
What do you feel gives you longevity in this big city with so many options?
I try to get out of NYC as much as I can. Carving time out to travel gives me inspiration and a new outlook and appreciation for all the great things NYC has to offer such as the art, restaurants, and most of all, the people.
How do you positively impact your clientele:
I try to share my inspirations, travel stories, and passion for supporting artisans.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love being able to express my creativity and adore my team and all of the people I meet through my job.
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
I am obsessed with SoHo Sanctuary for their 90-minute massages. It’s like a zen escape in the middle of bustling SoHo.
How do you benefit mamas?
I celebrate mothers and definitely think about how to dress women pre- and post-pregnancy. When designing, I am always thinking about different body types and ages and especially love when mothers and daughters shop together.
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
After a few years in business, a faithful client told me that she was impressed that I had stayed true to my original idea for Figue and had been able to maintain the spirit with which we had launched the company. I also love any time that someone tells me they feel great in my designs.
Pay it forward and name your top colleagues in the same field or related field.
Maiyet for its support of global artisans and ethical approach to fashion. Dries van Noten because he is a genius.
Best advice anyone has ever given you or what is your mantra?
