How many years have you been in business in NYC?
We just celebrated our three-year anniversary of becoming mompreneurs in this exciting world of kids’ fashion, and we’ve loved every minute of it. This current Spring-Summer collection is our sixth one. Just like a three-year-old toddler, we are full of energy and creativity, which we pour into our selection of pieces and the creation of our shoe line. We are just getting started!
How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?
I think we can all agree that our start was accidental. Our moms used to dress us in the most beautiful clothes when we were little. They loved to travel, and they dedicated a lot of time to selecting and buying head-to-toe outfits for all of us. When we became moms ourselves, we just knew we wanted to continue with that tradition. We loved the quality, attention to detail, and tailoring of the European brands we wore as kids. Let’s just say that dressing up is in our cultural DNA! We started getting lots of compliments from strangers on the streets about our kids’ outfits, and that sparked the initial idea. We thought, why not create a place where moms could find looks like the ones our children wore?
What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
We are bridging the gap between timeless European fashion and the American quest for comfort, and we are showing how this combination can be chic. And chic doesn't have to mean stuffy. You can be chic and still be wearing everyday clothes, but you need to understand how to innovate with colors and fabrics while including traditional styles and fit. That understanding is what we provide for our customers—and everything is just a click away.
What do you feel gives you longevity in this big city with so many options?
We pay close attention to detail when it comes to things like our customer service experience and our direct contact with the client. We take the time to get to know them, understand them, and be there for them. This gives us insight into what they are looking for and appreciate. We take all this wonderful knowledge from these one-on-one interactions and use it as inspiration during our designing and buying process. Because of this attentiveness, our customers have come to trust us to combine our knowledge of chic European children’s wear with their needs. In the end, they know that we can offer them a unique product.
How do you positively impact your clientele?
We offer an online buying experience that allows our clients to take the time and put in the effort required to choose unique outfits for special moments, all from the comfort of their homes. And for us, special moments include playdates, brunch, or even just a day out with mommy. We think there is something about envisioning those moments, planning for them, and then buying chic outfits for your children to wear on those days that makes them feel extra special.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Ale and Cori are crazed about our shoe line, which is made in Spain using top-quality manufacturers and high-end materials to create classic and timeless styles in beautiful colors and prints. They love the long and fun creative process involved in designing, selling, and marketing this line. Our shoe line has turned out to be our super-star category—it has opened up the wholesale market for us!
Meanwhile, Sami and Isabel have fallen in love with our ceremonial collection. What they really love even more than the collection itself is the experience we offer for customers purchasing from this line. These clients are choosing us for their truly special occasions, like first communions and weddings, and we work closely with them to customize their pieces to match their dreams. Clients in the NY area even come to our showroom to try on different options, and then they get to work with Conchita, our Spanish seamstress, to finalize all the details and make their outfits truly unique. It’s a fairytale process!
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
Our favorite spot happens to be 10 Gracie SQ in the UES. It’s the place we (Cori & Isabel) used to call home while growing up and has now transformed in to our place of gathering- from trunk shows to client meetings; everything happens there. Now we share its special energy with Ale and Sami and are creating new memories!
How do you benefit mamas?
Shopping for chic, practical, and well-priced clothes has proven to be a big challenge—one that we have taken the time to make easier by offering expertly curated, beautifully styled looks and shoes for babies, young girls, and young boys. Our chic moms appreciate that we save them time by offering head-to-toe looks that are curated by moms for moms! We are a one-stop shop where moms can stock up their little ones’ closets for the entire season!
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
“You taught me how to buy for my kids. It’s the fit and the head-to-toe that makes the difference in how my kids look. Buying full outfits that can be worn for many occasions really makes me feel that I’m doing a great job when dressing my kids.”
