How many years have you been in business in NYC?
My personal business is in its 7th year, the winery and stables are almost 30 years old, the Sag harbor restaurant is in its 3rd summer and Amagansett is in its first year!
What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
I am very focused on bringing unique items to my customer. I am lucky that I have such faithful clientele and people that really look to me for special pieces. I am not afraid to step outside the norm and I think that is hard to find in this retail climate.
What do you feel gives you longevity in this big city with so many options?
I think the Wölffer brand is really strong out here in the Hamptons. I believe that I have built all my businesses with a focus on being unique and personable. We are always true to who we are as a brand across all businesses and I think those are the type of brands that last.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love meeting new people. I have made so many great friends and met so many interesting women in my store, on my travels, and through my designers. Meeting these different types of people has opened so many doors for me. It is such a privilege to be around such great people.
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
WELL it wont be a secret anymore, BUT my most favorite spot in the world is the middle of the vineyard on my horse, Antonoy. I get my best ideas there and am really able to decompress from work and life.
How do you benefit mamas?
I would like to think I am an example of a mommy who manages to do it all. I have several businesses which I am very much involved in, but I make sure my weekends are spent exclusively with my family. Some days I work late, but most I am home for reading, bath, and bedtime. I also make sure I find time to take care of myself and exercise. I only have 1 now, but another girl on the way and I hope I can keep it up!
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
I love when clients say that the pieces they find from me are their favorite, as well as the ones they get the most compliments on.
Pay it forward and name your top colleagues in the same field or related field:
My favorite boutiques are Warm in NYC, Bird Brooklyn, Knockout Beauty in Bridgehampton, Lazypoint in Amagansett, Matches online, Matta, and Narnia Vintage in Williamsburg.
What is the best advice anyone's ever given you? Or what is your "mantra" / words to live by?
“Authenticity is not something we have or don’t have - a conscious choice of how want to live. Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.”
As moms, the day can escape us, what is your best time-saving trick?
Write everything down! Checklists really help me get it all done!
