How many years have you been in business in NYC?
Three years
How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?
When my youngest child Booker was a baby, I loved keeping him in his pajamas while walking Tilly & Tatum to school every morning. I would put him in his baby carrier, with my husband’s extra large jacket over us and off we went. Our shared body heat kept us both so warm and bundled. Wearing one jacket together made leaving our apartment every morning effortless. That’s what sparked B & Me.
What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
The Booker Coat + Vest are one of a kind, simple, one-piece, multifunctional products. They are multi-seasonal and can be worn during all of the different stages a woman experiences.
What do you feel gives you longevity in this big city with so many options?
Listening to myself and trying to be present really helps. Taking a good look at what I need as a business and as a family and knowing sky’s the limit!
How do you positively impact your clientele?
The Booker Coat and Vest’s adaptable characteristics allow women to wear them through the many stages they experience. Helping women feel themselves and maintain their personal style, while adapting to a changing body.
What is your favorite part of your job?
In addition to it being a nice creative outlet, I love showing my kids that having big dreams, working hard and having a vision pays off.
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
My husband and I went on Manhattan By Sail’s Clipper Ship this past September. It was so peaceful and beautiful cruising all around New York Harbor. It’s such an incredible way to see the city and it stops close up to the Statue of Liberty!
How do you benefit mamas?
I provide women with solutions to the obstacles that Moms encounter as they strive to keep themselves and their babies warm.
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
All of my comments and emails I receive put the biggest smile on my face, I remember reading this one and thinking how cool that we are two completely different Moms using the Booker Vest for the same reason yet in two completely opposite environments. “The Booker Vest has honestly been a godsend for me! It’s exactly what I needed to be able to get outside in the cold and wind to help my husband and other two little boys on the ranch. Plus it has let me get out for a walk anytime, to make me happy too. I don’t know if any of my friends have ordered one for themselves yet, but they’ve definitely been interested when they’ve seen me with it. Who knows—maybe you’ll eventually have a following of rancher’s wives like me, too.”
Pay it forward and name your top colleagues in the same field or related field:
I don’t know her personally but I really admire and look up to Ariane Goldman, founder of Hatch. What she has built is so inspiring!
What is the best advice anyone's ever given you? Or what is your "mantra" / words to live by?
“What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.”
As moms, the day can escape us, what is your best time-saving trick?
Mapping out my day the night before! And our giant dry erase calendar hanging in our kitchen helps me manage my busy party of five!
