The best catering in the Hamptons is hands down the lovely ladies at Hamptons Aristocrat. Lucky for us, this year, they have opened up their first restaurant located in Bridgehampton, and it’s my very favorite brunch on the east end. Everything they cook is all-natural and organic, from local farms, and they garnish with herbs and flowers from their own garden on the property. Their presentation is eco-friendly and absolutely beautiful, always with a pop of color and flavor. My favorite on the menu is their tuna tacos, garnished with avocado and herbs. Louisa and Lexi are two of the cutest best-friends I’ve ever met, and they are a damn good duo in the kitchen. They gave me the best lessons on which farms to shop for the best produce and dairy, and I could’ve stayed to hang with them all day because they are such a pleasure. If you want take-out for a picnic on the beach, or a day on the boat, they offer that as well behind the counter.
How many years have you been in business in the Hamptons?
We have been in business for 4 years.
How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?
We met back in 2013 at an industry event in NYC, where we both had our own thing going on (Lexi a wedding planner and designer, and restaurant general manager, Louisa, owner of a farm-to-table catering company in NYC) and we became quick friends over lunch. Sharing similar passions and experiences in the event industry, many of our get togethers turned into brain storms and industry problem solving strategies. After 9-months of weekly brainstorms, we decided to take a risk, join forces and solve the Hamptons' entertaining woes by offering a unique and first-of-its kind drop-off catering service.
What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
We offer an authentic Hamptons dining experience at home. We solve all Hamptons entertaining woes by offering a unique drop-off catering service without sacrificing quality. Hyper-local focused dishes, last-minute delivery and event management and design. We, of course, offer full-service too!
What do you feel gives you longevity in this big city with so many options?
We just stay true to the food and the experience, we strive to offer the highest quality, most convenient and most delicious food, while offering our clients a chance to also support our local farming community. Our tapas format at Salt Drift Farm encourages and forces the guests to “share” a meal, giving them an intimate dining experience over amazingly local produce. These dishes are plays on international street food items with our Hamptons + low country spin.
How do you positively impact your clientele?
We offer something that no one else offers, the ability to entertain in ease with our farm-to-fete delivery service. We “force” clients to enjoy the hyper-local produce and support the local farming community, through our food. Through Salt Drift Farm, we offer a fun, casual, but food focused experience in a tapas format. Really great for large groups.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Small business is really hard and Louisa and I have such an incredible bond. I couldn’t imagine doing anything like this without her. Having a supportive person by your side through some of the hardest decisions is priceless. So my favorite part of my job is having someone to navigate through the madness with. Sure makes for some amazing stories and much needed partnership.
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
- Louisa - Chinese Tuxedo
- Lexi - Flex Mussels
How do you benefit mamas?
Salt Drift Farm offers a beautiful farm garden where kids can frolic and pick strawberries while the moms kick back with a glass of rose! Fun kids menu, too!
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
One of the recurring words we have heard a lot lately is “this is so special.” Which is such a nice thing to hear. "Special" is an adjective that just makes it all worth it!
