By far, the longest relationship I’ve ever had is with my cuticle cutters. From the day we met, we have had an unbreakable bond. We both love to Netflix and chill, we travel together, have made drunken mistakes together, and never go to bed without saying good night.
It’s sad to have to announce, that at this time, my cuticle cutters and I have decided to take a break. This is not a decision I take lightly, for fear that my beloved cuticle cutters will become unhinged, but it had to happen, for I have fallen in love with another. Meet Sundays.
Sundays and I were introduced by mutual friend who thought we would really hit it off. I agreed on the meeting with an open mind, but with no real expectations. On our first date, there was instant chemistry, I felt relaxed, appreciated and doted on. Before we parted ways, I was promised that this was real, healthy, and long term. Two weeks later I had the proof right there in front of my face, 10 bright red fingernails with not a single chip or scratch! It was true love.
Sunday’s Nail Studio is a non-toxic, mani-pedi oasis, offering unique services featuring their own luxury line of polishes, 10-free, that are vegan and cruelty free
Entering the salon, a wall of the 10-free polishes are displayed, they come in array of rich luxurious colors presented in the chicest little bottle. 10-free polishes were carefully formulated with no harmful chemicals, while also delivering long-lasting effects of the beautiful pigments and brilliant lacquer. I can attest to this first hand!
Looking around the mani-pedi spa, it’s clear that great care has been put into the design of the interior, with luggage-colored leather chairs and lots of natural wood. The busy city streets are quickly forgotten, as you find instant serenity, feeling as if you were just transported to Sonoma for a 30-minute getaway.
The nail menu has all the traditional options, as well as a few new ones, like the rose extract anti-aging manicure, and the meditation manicure. I opted for the meditation because it had been a grueling week. When I sat, I was presented with a selection of essential oils to chose from to be incorporated into the experience, then I was given an iPod, and the prettiest set of rose gold colored head phones. The iPod had meditation categories such as strength, relaxation, healing and so on. Once I made my choice, the manicure began. A soothing voice came through the rose gold, and had me close my eyes, start a breathing routine and the rest is a blur of positivity and peacefulness. The next thing I know my shoulders are being massaged, my nails are dry and sadly I need to get back to my regularly scheduled day.
Dear Cuticle Cutters,
It’s over. I’m sorry. It’s not you, it’s me.
Fondly,
Perfect Nails
