How many years have you been in business in NYC?
over decade in business been in NYC past five
How did you get your start and what was your initial inspiration?
I was an emmy award winning television producer and my intention was to help people escape. I had a calling to help people turn inward and reconnect, and I followed it. that started a decade long journey across the country and eventually around the world of self-healing and studying wisdom, consciousness and the art of transformation with many Masters. when I trained in prenatal yoga I was so moved viscerally in my body by the practice that I was inspired to express my years of work and tools with the world and elana slott yoga • meditation • healing was born!!
What do you feel differentiates you from others in your field?
I’m highly intuitive and I LISTEN deeply beneath the story into the essence of the heart and soul’s expression.. into the energy… and I respond with what you need to hear… from yourself. I do not hold back or sugar coat. I serve the moment and the being in my presence with absolute love. I don't work to please you. I work to transform you and move you beyond your comfort zone. I give you what you actually need not what you think you need :)
What do you feel gives you longevity in this big city with so many options?
quality. integrity. heart. soul. and absolute presence.
How do you positively impact your clientele?
It’s funny, I just enter the space, read the energy and serve the moment and the client with zero expectation. I ALWAYS get from them that’s exactly what I needed!! I help to reconnect my clients with their truth, to open my clients to a level within themselves where they discover their own answers. I shed light within and illuminate what needs to be addressed, met, held, acknowledged, and I also create a space where they feel safe to open, to release and to receive and to find their voice. I empower them to connect with their essence, embrace, embody and express through it and own it!!
What is your favorite part of your job?
Practicing with the clients. and witnessing their unfolding. Their healing and growth impacts and inspires my own.
What is your favorite secret NYC spot?
not so secret, I would probably still say Central Park. I LOVE being in nature and I find it very soothing to walk through any time of year. Nature is healing and it decompresses me, that or the gorillas at the bronx zoo. I could sit and watch the mamas and babies for hours.
How do you benefit mamas?
I help mamas to reconnect with the power and support around them and within them. I help them find their calm and center. their grace. I remind them of the sacred journey of motherhood and the honor, privilege and responsibility of carrying a child through. I work a lot with birthing a new generation and helping women to release the painful patterns in their lives they no longer want to experience and do not want to pass along to their children. Some of its behavioral some of its karmic. We clear the line in order to move forward and back and open for new experiences and evolution.
What is the most memorable feedback a client has given you?
You altered the course of my life. That is HUGE. My client was so deeply touched and moved by her practice that she was inspired to become a teacher herself and share the tools of self-healing and transformation. She also had her first baby!! he’s one of the sweetest, calmest little ones I’ve met. These practices work wonders.
Pay it forward and name your top colleagues in the same field or related field:
Hands down my teacher, friend and college Siddhi Ellinghoven. This woman is Grace in action. Impeccable student and teacher of life. Always in practice. Also my acupuncturist Dr.Te-Hsin Lo. She works with such depth and light. True healer. Karena Virgina, Kundalini Yogi. An angel, a sister and a warrior of LOVE. Dr. Linda Lancaster. My naturopath. Brilliant and intuitive. No nonsense. All the fellow teachers, seekers, students and healers I’ve met along the way who are genuinely working from a place of service. They walk their talk and they continue to touch and inspire me to do the same every single day.
What is the best advice anyone's ever given you? Or what is your "mantra" / words to live by?
Don’t quit the moment before the miracle. That is a quote from yogi Bahjan. my personal mantra is LIVE, LOVE, be in the moment and be in your heart. Trust the unfolding and your intuition and hold space for the miracles to crystalize. And reach, reach for them. See them. Touch them. Vibrate towards them. You play a big part in manifesting the miracle. Don’t dismiss your responsibility. Participate!! The universe has your back and the highest potential is always at play.
As moms, the day can escape us, what is your best time-saving trick?
Stay in the moment. Take it one step, on breath at a time. make a list and then see what the day allows. Always make time for self care and your children. Prioritize this. Understand that on any given day your responsibilities are endless. Your ability however is limited as there are only so many hours in a given day. And trust that what is most essential you will attend to. Be flexible with each day and yourself. Allow. And do NOT try to do it all and be “supermom.” the super mom is the one who actually shows up for herself, her kids and her community with full presence and love not the one that does 5 things at one time. Don’t multi-task. it's totally overrated and overwhelming to the nervous system. Babies need calm, mamas need calm, and everyone in this city especially needs calm.
